Dough Preparation

Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water (about 110°F), sugar, and active dry yeast. Let sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

Mix Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Slowly add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

Knead Dough
Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Prepare the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

Shape the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into small balls (about the size of a golf ball).

Carefully drop the dough balls into the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon.

In a large bowl, toss the fried dough with olive oil, garlic powder, Parmesan, and Romano cheese until well coated.
