Key Lime Pie Ingredients

Method

Key Lime Pie Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Graham Cracker Crust

In a medium bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter until well combined. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes. Remove and let cool.

  2. 2

    Make the Key Lime Filling

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sweetened condensed milk until smooth. Add the key lime juice and mix until fully incorporated. Pour the filling into the cooled graham cracker crust.

  3. 3

    Bake the Pie

Bake the pie in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 3 hours or until set.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Chantilly Cream

In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream and powdered sugar together until soft peaks form. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

  5. 5

    Make the Hibiscus Coulis

In a small pot, combine the dried hibiscus flowers and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for about 10 minutes. Strain the mixture to remove the flowers and let the liquid cool. Optionally, sweeten to taste.

  6. 6

    Serve

Slice the chilled key lime pie and serve with a dollop of chantilly cream on top. Drizzle with hibiscus coulis for added flavor and presentation.
