Method
Steak Preparation
- 1
- 2
Preheat Grill
Preheat your grill over high heat for about 10 minutes.
- 3
Grill the Steak
Place the seasoned steaks on the grill. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached. Use a meat thermometer to check for an internal temperature of 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.
- 4
Rest the Steak
Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.
French Fries Preparation
- 5
Prepare the Potatoes
Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin strips (about 1/4 inch thick). Rinse the cut fries in cold water to remove excess starch, then pat them dry with paper towels.
- 6
Heat the Oil
In a large, heavy pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C) over medium heat.
- 7
Fry the Potatoes
Working in batches, add the fries to the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 5-6 minutes until they are golden brown. Remove them with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- 8
Season the Fries
While the fries are still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste.
