Method

For the Calamari

  1. 1

    Prepare the Calamari

In a large bowl, combine the cleaned calamari rings with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Toss to coat evenly and let marinate for about 15 minutes.

  2. 2

    Setup Breading Station

In three separate shallow bowls, place the flour, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs. First, dredge the calamari in flour, shaking off the excess. Then dip in the beaten eggs before coating in panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.

  3. 3

    Fry the Calamari

In a deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F). Fry the calamari in batches for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove and drain on paper towels.

For the Spicy Aioli

  1. 4

    Make the Aioli

In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and Sriracha sauce. Mix well until smooth and season with salt to taste.
