Method

Preparing the Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Heat the Grill or Pan

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

Flip the patties and place a slice of cheese on top of each one. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Preparing the Buns

  1. 6

    Toast the Buns

Spread butter on the cut sides of each burger bun. Toast them on the grill or in a skillet until golden brown.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, and then top with the other half of the bun.
