Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the Delmonico steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps it cook evenly.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  3. 3

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

  4. 4

    Cook the Steak

Add the steak to the pan and sear for about 4-5 minutes on one side, until a crust forms. Flip the steak and cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or longer for your desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Add Butter and Rosemary

In the last minute of cooking, add the butter and fresh rosemary to the pan. Baste the steak with the melted butter for extra flavor.

  6. 6

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the pan and let it rest on a cutting board for at least 5 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  7. 7

    Serve

Slice the steak against the grain and serve with your favorite sides.
