Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Peel and cube the butternut squash into 1-inch pieces. Slice the onions thinly. Cut the foie gras into small pieces.

  2. 2

    Cook the Lardons

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the lardons and cook until crispy. Remove them from the skillet and set aside, leaving the fat in the pan.

  3. 3

    Caramelize the Onions

Add the sliced onions to the skillet and cook on low heat, stirring occasionally, until they are golden brown and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.

  4. 4

    Cook the Butternut Squash

In the same skillet, add the cubed butternut squash, salt, pepper, and thyme. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, or until the squash is tender, stirring occasionally.

  5. 5

    Combine the Ingredients

Once the squash is tender, stir in the crispy lardons and foie gras. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the foie gras is warmed through.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve hot, drizzled with the remaining olive oil if desired, and enjoy your Butternut Squash Lyonnaise!
