Sandwich Assembly
Method
Marinating the Chicken
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- 2
Marinate the Chicken
Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring they are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
Grilling the Chicken
- 3
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- 4
Grill the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the marinade and place it on the grill. Cook for 6-7 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 6-7 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- 5
Rest the Chicken
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Assembling the Sandwich
- 6
Toast the Buns
While the chicken is resting, lightly toast the buns on the grill for about 1-2 minutes until golden.
- 7
Assemble the Sandwich
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf, grilled chicken slice, and tomato slice on top. Cover with the top half of the bun.
