Method

Crust Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Mix crust ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, melted butter, and salt. Mix until well combined.

  3. 3

    Press into pan

Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form an even crust layer.

  4. 4

    Bake the crust

Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove and set aside to cool.

Filling Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare cream cheese

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.

  2. 6

    Add sugar

Gradually add granulated sugar to the cream cheese, beating until well combined and fluffy.

  3. 7

    Incorporate sour cream and vanilla

Add sour cream and vanilla extract, and continue to mix until smooth.

  4. 8

    Add eggs

Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition to ensure a smooth batter.

  5. 9

    Stir in flour

Gently fold in the all-purpose flour until just combined.

  6. 10

    Pour into crust

Pour the cheesecake filling over the cooled crust in the springform pan.

Baking and Cooling

  1. 11

    Bake the cheesecake

Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.

  2. 12

    Cool and chill

Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake cool in the oven with the door slightly open for 1 hour. Then, refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

  3. 13

    Serve

Remove the cheesecake from the springform pan, slice, and serve chilled. Enjoy your classic New York-style cheesecake!
