Mojito Ingredients

Method

Mojito Preparation

  1. 1

    Muddle the Mint and Sugar

In a sturdy glass, add the fresh mint leaves and granulated sugar. Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, gently press down on the mint leaves to release their oils, mixing them with the sugar. Be careful not to shred the leaves too much.

  2. 2

    Add the Lime

Cut the lime into wedges. Squeeze the juice from the wedges into the glass and drop the wedges in as well. Muddle the mixture again gently to combine the flavors.

  3. 3

    Add the Rum

Pour the white rum into the glass over the muddled mint, sugar, and lime mixture. Stir gently to combine.

  4. 4

    Add Ice and Soda Water

Fill the glass with ice cubes, then pour soda water over the ice until the glass is full. Stir gently to mix the ingredients without disturbing the ice too much.

  5. 5

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish your mojito with a sprig of fresh mint and a lime wedge on the rim of the glass. Serve immediately with a straw.
