Sautéed Sweet Onion

Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine the minced lemongrass, minced garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Add Steak

Place the skirt steak into the marinade, ensuring it is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight for best flavor.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Cook the steak for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer to your desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing against the grain.

Sautéed Sweet Onion Preparation

  1. 5

    Slice the Onion

    Slice the sweet onion thinly.

  2. 6

    Sauté the Onion

In another skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onion, salt, and black pepper. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions are caramelized and golden brown.

  3. 7

    Add Balsamic Vinegar

Stir in the balsamic vinegar and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
