Pizza Dough

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let it Rise

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  5. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

  6. 6

    Shape the Pizzas

Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into 2-4 equal portions, depending on the size of pizzas you want. Roll out each portion into a round shape.

  7. 7

    Add Toppings

Spread pizza sauce over the dough, add mozzarella cheese, and top with your desired toppings.

  8. 8

    Bake

Place the pizzas on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.

  9. 9

    Serve

Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil, slice, and serve hot.
