Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Boiling Liquid

In a large pot, combine water, salt, and Old Bay seasoning. Squeeze the juice of half the lemon into the pot and add the squeezed lemon halves along with the garlic cloves.

  2. 2

    Boil the Shrimp

Bring the pot to a rolling boil. Once boiling, add the shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

  3. 3

    Ice Bath

Remove the pot from heat and immediately transfer the shrimp to a bowl filled with ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them sit in the ice bath for about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Serve

Drain the shrimp and serve them chilled with cocktail sauce on the side for dipping. Garnish with lemon wedges if desired.
