Bait Fish
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Prepare the Bait Fish
Rinse the whole bait fish under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
- 2
Make the Coating
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, cornmeal, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
- 3
Coat the Fish
Dredge each bait fish in the coating mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated on all sides.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).
- 5
Fry the Fish
Carefully place the coated bait fish into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried fish from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
