Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brussels Sprouts

Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any yellow or damaged outer leaves. Cut the Brussels sprouts in half lengthwise.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the bacon lardons. Cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside, leaving the rendered fat in the pan.

  3. 3

    Sauté the Brussels Sprouts

In the same skillet with the bacon fat, add the halved Brussels sprouts, salt, and black pepper. Sauté for about 8-10 minutes until they are golden brown and tender, stirring occasionally.

  4. 4

    Add Onion and Finish Cooking

Once the Brussels sprouts are cooked, add the shaved red onion to the skillet. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the onion is just softened.

Dressing

  1. 5

    Make the Honey Balsamic Dressing

In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, balsamic vinegar, and olive oil until well combined. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

Final Assembly

  1. 6

    Combine and Serve

Return the cooked bacon to the skillet with the Brussels sprouts and onions. Drizzle the honey balsamic dressing over the mixture. Toss gently to combine and serve warm.
