Baking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Pan
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan with butter and sprinkle the brown sugar evenly across the bottom. Arrange the pineapple rings on top of the sugar and place a maraschino cherry in the center of each ring.
- 2
Make the Batter
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and milk.
- 3
Combine Dry Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- 4
Pour and Bake
Pour the batter over the arranged pineapple and cherries in the cake pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- 5
Cool and Serve
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a serving plate. Serve warm or at room temperature.
