Preparation
- 1
Muddle the Mint
In a sturdy glass or cocktail shaker, add the fresh mint leaves and lime juice. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently press the mint leaves to release their oils. Be careful not to tear them too much; just enough to release the flavor.
- 2
Add the Rum and Simple Syrup
Pour in the white rum and simple syrup into the muddled mint mixture. Stir gently to combine the ingredients well.
- 3
Add Ice
Fill the glass with ice cubes, ensuring that the mixture is chilled and the ice doesn't overflow.
- 4
Top with Soda Water
Pour the soda water over the ice and mint mixture. Adjust the amount based on your taste preference for carbonation.
- 5
Garnish and Serve
Garnish your mojito with a lime wedge and a sprig of mint. Serve immediately with a straw or stirrer.
