Method

Preparation of Topping

  1. 1

    Dice the Tomatoes

Start by washing the Roma tomatoes thoroughly. Remove the stems, and dice the tomatoes into small pieces. Place them in a medium bowl.

  2. 2

    Chop the Basil

Take the fresh basil leaves, stack them, and chop them into thin strips (chiffonade). Add to the bowl with the diced tomatoes.

  3. 3

    Add Garlic and Seasoning

Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the bowl. Season the mixture with salt and black pepper, and gently toss to combine. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Preparation of Bread

  1. 4

    Slice the Baguette

Cut the baguette into 1-inch thick slices on a diagonal to create larger surface areas for topping.

  2. 5

    Grill the Bread

Brush both sides of each slice with olive oil. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Grill the bread slices for 2-3 minutes on each side or until they are golden brown and have grill marks.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Top the Bread

Remove the grilled bread from the heat. Spoon the marinated tomato mixture generously over each slice.

  2. 7

    Drizzle with Balsamic Glaze

Finish by drizzling balsamic glaze over the topped bruschetta for an added touch of flavor.

  3. 8

    Serve

Arrange the bruschetta on a serving platter and serve immediately while the bread is still warm.
