Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Form the Patties

In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Divide into two equal portions and shape them into patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, adding a slice of cheddar cheese on top during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Eggs Preparation

  1. 3

    Cook the Eggs

In a separate skillet, heat a little oil over medium heat. Crack the eggs gently into the skillet and cook until the whites are set but the yolks remain runny, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.

Biscuit Toasting

  1. 4

    Toast the Biscuits

Split the biscuits in half and toast them lightly on a skillet or in a toaster until golden brown.

Bacon Cooking

  1. 5

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet, cook the bacon strips over medium heat until crispy. Drain on paper towels.

Gravy Preparation

  1. 6

    Make the Gravy

In the same skillet used for the bacon, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute. Gradually whisk in the milk, cooking until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Assemble the Smash Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted biscuit, place a bacon strip, then a cheese burger patty, followed by an over-easy egg. Drizzle the gravy generously over the top and close with the biscuit lid.
