Burger Patty

Toppings

Buns

Method

Preparing the Patty

  1. 1

    Season the Beef

In a bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the seasoned beef into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about ¾ inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cooking the Patty

  1. 3

    Grill or Cook the Patties

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned. Flip them over and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty.

  2. 4

    Melt the Cheese

Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the patty reaches your desired doneness.

Assembling the Cheeseburger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and lightly toast them on the grill or in a toaster if desired.

  2. 6

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, layer a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, sliced tomato, and sliced onion. Top with the other half of the bun.
