Burger Patties

Buns and Toppings

Method

Preparing the Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Beef

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Do not overwork the meat to ensure juicy patties.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a round patty, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Grill or Cook

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side.

  2. 4

    Flip Patties

Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burger is cooked to your desired doneness.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the hamburger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster if desired.

  2. 6

    Add Toppings

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a burger patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato (sliced), and a few rings of onion. Add ketchup and mustard to taste.

  3. 7

    Finish and Serve

Top with the other half of the bun, serve immediately, and enjoy your cheeseburger!
