Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mixing Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Forming Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Grilling the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned.

  2. 4

    Flipping and Adding Cheese

Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Toasting the Buns

While the cheese is melting, cut the burger buns in half and toast them on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Building the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by a burger patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, onion slices, and pickles. Add ketchup and mustard to taste, then cover with the top half of the bun.
