Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Melt the Butter

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

  4. 4

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Add the melted butter, vanilla extract, and milk, mixing well.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. If using, fold in chocolate chips and nuts.

Baking

  1. 6

    Pour into Pan

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.

  2. 7

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  3. 8

    Cool and Slice

Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cool, slice into squares and serve.
