Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Method

Cooking the Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and allow them to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub both sides of the steaks with salt and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Sear the Steak

Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steaks and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, depending on the thickness.

  4. 4

    Add Garlic

In the last minute of cooking, add the crushed garlic cloves to the skillet and baste the steaks with the infused oil.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Making Garlic Mashed Potatoes

  1. 6

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into chunks. Place them in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 7

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

  3. 8

    Serve

Serve the garlic mashed potatoes alongside the ribeye steak.
