Crab Cake Mixture

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Crab Cake Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the lump crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, egg, breadcrumbs, green onions, salt, and black pepper until well mixed. Be careful not to break up the crab meat too much.

  2. 2

    Form the Crab Cakes

Using your hands, shape the mixture into patties about 3 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick. Place the patties on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  3. 3

    Chill the Cakes

Cover the baking sheet with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help the cakes hold their shape during cooking.

  4. 4

    Cook the Crab Cakes

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of oil over medium heat. Carefully place the chilled crab cakes in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and heated through.

  5. 5

    Serve

Remove the crab cakes from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with lemon wedges and your favorite dipping sauce.
