Filet Mignon Ingredients

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steaks

Take the filet mignon steaks out of the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. This helps them cook evenly.

  2. 2

    Season the Steaks

Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. Rub them with olive oil, then season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  3. 3

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet or cast-iron pan, heat over medium-high heat until it is hot. Add the butter and let it melt.

  4. 4

    Cook the Steaks

Add the steaks to the pan and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, without moving them. Flip the steaks and add crushed garlic cloves and fresh rosemary to the pan.

  5. 5

    Baste the Steaks

Using a spoon, baste the steaks with the melted butter and pan juices as they cook. Cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or until they reach your desired doneness.

  6. 6

    Rest the Steaks

Remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest for about 5 minutes before serving, allowing the juices to redistribute.

  7. 7

    Serve

Slice the steaks and serve with your favorite sides.
