Preparation
- 1
Prepare the pie crust
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). If you are using a store-bought pie crust, fit it into a 9-inch pie plate. If you are making your own, roll out the dough and place it in the pie plate, trimming any excess.
- 2
Mix the filling
In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar, light corn syrup, melted unsalted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, bourbon, and salt. Whisk together until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- 3
Add pecans
Gently fold in the pecan halves to the filling mixture.
- 4
Bake the pie
Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown.
- 5
Cool and serve
Remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours before serving. This will help the filling set completely. Serve slices plain or with whipped cream.
