Prepare the Bananas
Peel the banana and slice it lengthwise into halves.

Make the Sauce
In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the brown sugar and cinnamon, stirring until the sugar dissolves.

Add the Bananas
Carefully place the banana halves in the skillet, cut side up. Cook for about 1-2 minutes until they start to soften.

Flambé the Rum
Pour the dark rum over the bananas and carefully ignite with a long lighter or match. Allow the flames to subside as the alcohol burns off, about 30 seconds.

Serve
Spoon the bananas and sauce over a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream immediately.
