Onion Rings

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Onions

Peel the onions and slice them into thick rings, about 1/2 inch thick. Separate the rings and set them aside.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In one bowl, place the all-purpose flour mixed with salt and pepper. In a second bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. In a third bowl, place the Japanese-style bread crumbs.

  3. 3

    Bread the Onion Rings

Dredge each onion ring in the flour mixture, shaking off excess. Dip into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off, and finally coat in the bread crumbs, pressing gently to adhere.

  4. 4

    Heat Oil

In a large, deep pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Onion Rings

Carefully add the breaded onion rings to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve hot with the signature Boomerang Sauce for dipping.
