Base Shake Preparation
In a blender, combine the vanilla ice cream and milk. Blend until smooth.

Flavoring the Shake
For a chocolate shake, add chocolate syrup to the blender and blend until combined. For a strawberry shake, add strawberry syrup instead.

Pour the shake into a tall glass, top with whipped cream if desired, and serve immediately.
