In a bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

Coat the Cheese Curds
Dip each cheese curd into the batter, ensuring they are well-coated. Then roll them in breadcrumbs to ensure a thick coating.

Heat the Oil
In a deep pot or fryer, heat the oil to 350°F (175°C).

Carefully drop the breaded cheese curds into the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
