Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Cucumbers
Wash the cucumbers thoroughly. Cut them into spears or slices, depending on your preference.
- 2
Make the Pickling Solution
In a saucepan, combine the white vinegar, water, salt, sugar, garlic cloves, black peppercorns, and red pepper flakes. Bring this mixture to a boil, stirring until the salt and sugar dissolve.
- 3
Pack the Pickles
In sterilized jars, layer the cucumber spears or slices with dill sprigs. Pour the hot pickling solution over the cucumbers, ensuring they are fully submerged.
- 4
Seal and Cool
Seal the jars with lids and let them cool to room temperature. Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving for the best flavor.
- 5
Serve
Enjoy your pickles in a boat or on their own! They make a great side dish or snack.
