Preparation

1

Prepare the Ingredients

Dice the fresh jalapeños and set them aside. Grate the cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese if not pre-shredded.

Cooking

2

Melt the Cream Cheese

In a medium saucepan over low heat, add the cream cheese. Stir continuously until it begins to melt.

3

Add the Cheeses and Milk

Gradually add the cheddar cheese and Monterey Jack cheese to the melted cream cheese, stirring constantly. Pour in the milk and continue to stir until all the cheeses are melted and the mixture is smooth.

4

Incorporate Jalapeños and Seasoning

Once the cheese mixture is smooth, fold in the diced jalapeños. Add garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper to taste. Stir well to combine all ingredients.

5

Heat Through

Allow the queso to heat for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently until warmed through. Do not let it boil.

Serving

6

Serve the Queso

Transfer the queso to a serving bowl. Serve hot with tortilla chips, veggies, or as a topping for nachos.
