Meatballs

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Meatballs

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, fennel seeds, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic, egg, bread crumbs, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Meatballs

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet.

  3. 3

    Bake the Meatballs

Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through and browned.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Tomato Basil Sauce

While the meatballs are baking, heat the tomato basil sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.

  5. 5

    Make the Slaw

In a bowl, combine shaved fennel, arugula, red onion, and drizzle with lemon oil. Toss lightly to mix.

  6. 6

    Serve

Once the meatballs are done, serve them topped with tomato basil sauce, slaw, and crostini on the side.
