Method
Prepare the Teri Sauce
- 1
Combine Ingredients
In a small saucepan, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Stir well to ensure the sugar is dissolved.
- 2
Simmer the Sauce
Heat the saucepan over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally, and let it cook for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and set aside.
Cook the Gardenburger
- 3
Prepare the Patties
While the sauce is simmering, heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. If desired, lightly oil the pan to prevent sticking.
- 4
Cook the Patties
Place the Gardenburger patties in the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until heated through and golden brown. Remove from heat.
Assemble the Burger
- 5
Toast the Buns
If desired, lightly toast the whole wheat hamburger buns in the skillet until golden brown.
- 6
Build the Burger
On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf followed by a cooked Gardenburger patty. Drizzle with the prepared Teri sauce and top with tomato slices and chopped green onions.
- 7
Finish the Burger
Place the top half of the bun over the toppings, press down gently, and serve immediately.
