Teriyaki Chicken

Method

Teriyaki Chicken

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Stir until the sugar dissolves.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Chicken

Place the chicken thighs in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, seal or cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

  3. 3

    Cook the Chicken

Preheat a grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the leftover marinade. Cook the chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked.

  4. 4

    Make the Teriyaki Sauce

In a small saucepan, mix cornstarch and water to form a slurry. Add the remaining marinade (if any), and heat until it thickens. Stir in sesame seeds and set aside.

  5. 5

    Serve

Slice the cooked chicken, drizzle with teriyaki sauce, and garnish with chopped green onions.

Breaded Shrimp

  1. 6

    Prepare the Shrimp

Rinse and pat dry the shrimp. Season with salt and black pepper.

  2. 7

    Breading Process

Set up a breading station: Place flour in one bowl, beaten egg in another, and breadcrumbs in a third. Dredge each shrimp in flour, dip in egg, then coat with breadcrumbs.

  3. 8

    Fry the Shrimp

In a deep frying pan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded shrimp in batches. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.

  4. 9

    Drain and Serve

Remove shrimp from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve immediately alongside the teriyaki chicken.
