Method

Preparation of Marinade

  1. 1

    Combine Marinade Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of teriyaki sauce, 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 teaspoon of grated ginger, and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. Whisk together until well blended.

Marinating the Protein

  1. 2

    Marinate the Beef or Chicken

Place the 1 pound of beef or chicken into a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the meat, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for more flavor.

Grilling

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If using a charcoal grill, ensure the coals are glowing and ashy.

  2. 4

    Grill the Meat

Remove the meat from the marinade, letting excess marinade drip off. Grill the beef or chicken for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (for chicken) or your desired doneness for beef.

  3. 5

    Rest the Meat

Once grilled, remove the meat from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Brioche Buns

While the meat is resting, slice the brioche buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill for about 1-2 minutes.

  2. 7

    Assemble the Burger

Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted brioche bun. Place a lettuce leaf, a slice of grilled meat, a slice of tomato, and a sprinkle of chopped green onions on top. Finish with the top half of the bun.
