Sourdough Preparation
Optional Toppings
Method
Roasting the Beef
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 2
Prepare the Beef
Rub the beef roast with olive oil, ensuring it is evenly coated.
- 3
Season the Beef
Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, chopped rosemary, and chopped thyme over the beef roast. Press the seasonings into the meat.
- 4
Roast the Beef
Place the seasoned beef roast in a roasting pan. Roast in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 135°F (57°C) for medium-rare.
- 5
Rest the Beef
Remove the roast from the oven and let it rest for at least 15 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.
Preparing the Sourdough
Assembling the Sandwich
- 8
Slice the Beef
Using a sharp knife, slice the rested roast beef thinly against the grain.
- 9
Build the Sandwich
Layer the sliced roast beef on the toasted sourdough bread. Add optional toppings such as horseradish sauce, mustard, and arugula or lettuce as desired.
- 10
Serve
Serve the roast beef sandwiches immediately while warm.
