Method

Cooking Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil Linguine

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

  2. 2

    Drain and Set Aside

Once cooked, drain the linguine and reserve a cup of pasta water. Set linguine aside.

Preparing Bolognese Sauce

  1. 3

    Sauté Vegetables

In a large skillet or saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion, minced garlic, diced carrot, and diced celery. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

  2. 4

    Brown the Meat

Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, about 8-10 minutes.

  3. 5

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, red wine, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Cooking Mushrooms

  1. 6

    Sauté Mushrooms

In a separate pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms and sauté until they are browned and tender, about 5-7 minutes.

Preparing Vegetables

  1. 7

    Steam Mixed Vegetables

In a pot with a steamer basket, place mixed vegetables and steam for about 5-7 minutes until tender.

Making Garlic Bread

  1. 8

    Prepare Garlic Butter

In a small bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley together.

  2. 9

    Spread on Baguette

Slice the baguette in half lengthwise and spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on both halves.

  3. 10

    Toast Garlic Bread

Place the baguette halves on a baking sheet and toast in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown.

Serving

  1. 11

    Plate the Dish

Divide the linguine among plates and top with the Bolognese sauce. Garnish with sautéed mushrooms and grated Parmesan cheese.

  2. 12

Serve with Vegetables and Garlic Bread

Serve the linguine Bolognese with steamed mixed vegetables and slices of garlic bread on the side.
