Burger Patty

Toppings

Method

Preparing the Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the patties tender.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick. Use your thumb to make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

Cooking the Patty

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned, then flip them and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes on the other side for medium doneness.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover with a lid to melt the cheese.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Toppings

While the patties are cooking, wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Slice the tomato into rounds.

  2. 7

    Toast the Buns (Optional)

If desired, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.

  3. 8

    Assemble the Burger

Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun. Add the cooked patty with melted cheese on top, followed by a slice of tomato. Cover with the top half of the bun.
