Method

Preparing the Ribs

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Ribs

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better flavor absorption. Rinse the ribs under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

  3. 3

    Season the Ribs

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub this mixture all over the ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated.

Making the Barbecue Sauce

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, honey, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, mustard powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 5

    Cook the Sauce

Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes until slightly thickened.

Cooking the Ribs

  1. 6

    Bake the Ribs

Place the seasoned ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Cover tightly with another piece of foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until they are tender.

  2. 7

    Glaze with Sauce

Remove the ribs from the oven and discard the top layer of foil. Brush a generous amount of the barbecue sauce over the ribs.

  3. 8

    Broil for Finish

Increase oven temperature to broil. Broil the ribs for 3-5 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning, until the sauce is caramelized and bubbly.

Serving

  1. 9

    Rest and Serve

Let the ribs rest for 10 minutes before cutting into portions. Serve with additional barbecue sauce on the side.
