Method

Preparation of Brussels Sprouts

  1. 1

    Trimming and Halving

Rinse the Brussels sprouts under cold water and trim the ends. Cut each Brussels sprout in half lengthwise.

  2. 2

    Drying

Place the halved Brussels sprouts on a clean kitchen towel or paper towels and pat them dry to remove excess moisture.

Making the Glaze

  1. 3

    Mixing the Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, soy sauce, sriracha sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Frying the Brussels Sprouts

  1. 4

    Heating the Oil

In a deep frying pan or skillet, pour in the vegetable oil and heat over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 5

    Frying

Carefully add the halved Brussels sprouts to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 4-5 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.

  3. 6

    Draining

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried Brussels sprouts from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Coating with Glaze

  1. 7

    Tossing in Glaze

In a large bowl, combine the fried Brussels sprouts with the maple-chile glaze. Toss gently to ensure each piece is evenly coated.
