Method
Prepare the Salad

Wash and Chop Romaine
Rinse the romaine lettuce under cold water. Pat dry with a paper towel and chop into bite-sized pieces. Place in a large bowl.

Add Shaved Parmesan
Sprinkle the shaved parmesan cheese over the chopped romaine in the bowl.
Make the Croutons

Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare Bread
Cut the sourdough bread slices into cubes of about 1 inch.

Season and Bake Croutons
In a bowl, toss the bread cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated. Spread them on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, turning halfway through.
Make the Dressing (optional)

Prepare Dressing Ingredients
In a small bowl, combine the anchovy fillets, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, olive oil, salt, and black pepper.

Mix Dressing
Whisk the ingredients together until smooth. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if necessary.
Assemble the Salad

Combine Ingredients
Once the croutons are ready, add them to the bowl with the romaine and parmesan.

Pour the prepared dressing over the salad, if using, and toss gently to combine all ingredients.

Serve immediately while the croutons are still warm and crispy.
