Method

Salad Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash the mixed greens thoroughly under cold water, then spin dry or pat dry with a clean kitchen towel. Cut the cherry tomatoes in half, slice the cucumber and bell pepper into bite-sized pieces, and shred the carrot.

  2. 2

    Combine the Salad Base

In a large mixing bowl, combine the mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, bell pepper, and shredded carrot. Toss gently to mix the ingredients evenly.

Crouton Preparation

  1. 3

    Make the Croutons

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the slices of bread into small cubes. In a bowl, toss the bread cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, and salt until evenly coated.

  2. 4

    Bake the Croutons

Spread the seasoned bread cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for about 10-15 minutes, or until golden and crispy, stirring halfway through to ensure even browning. Remove from oven and let cool.

Dressing Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Balsamic Vinaigrette

In a small bowl or jar, whisk together balsamic vinegar, olive oil, Dijon mustard, honey, salt, and black pepper until well combined. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Final Assembly

  1. 6

    Assemble the Salad

Drizzle the balsamic vinaigrette over the salad mixture and toss gently to combine. Add the homemade croutons on top and serve immediately for the best texture.
