Method

Preparing the Topping

1

Chop the Tomatoes

Dice the fresh tomatoes into small cubes and place them in a mixing bowl.

2

Add Basil

Chop the fresh basil leaves into small pieces and add them to the bowl with the diced tomatoes.

3

Mince the Garlic

Peel and finely mince the garlic cloves, then add them to the tomato and basil mixture.

4

Season the Mixture

Season the tomato mixture with salt and black pepper. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.

Preparing the Bread

5

Slice the Bread

Slice the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2 inch thick slices.

6

Toast the Bread

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and brush one side with olive oil. Toast in the oven for about 5-7 minutes until golden and crispy.

7

Remove from Oven

Once toasted, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool slightly.

Assembling the Bruschetta

8

Top the Bread

Spoon the tomato and basil mixture generously onto the toasted side of each bread slice.

9

Serve Immediately

Serve the bruschetta immediately while the bread is still warm and the topping is fresh.
