Method
Preparing the Salad
- 1
Prepare the Romaine Lettuce
Wash the Romaine lettuce under cold water. Remove any wilted leaves and chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces. Place in a large salad bowl.
- 2
Cook the Shrimp
If not pre-cooked, heat a pan over medium heat and sauté the shrimp for about 3-4 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Remove from heat and let cool.
- 3
- 4
Cook the Smoked Bacon
In a frying pan, cook the smoked bacon until crispy. Remove from the pan, let cool, and chop into small pieces.
- 5
Grate the Parmesan Cheese
Grate the Parmesan cheese using a cheese grater and set aside.
- 6
Prepare the Croutons
If using pre-made croutons, skip this step. Otherwise, cube leftover bread and toss in olive oil, then bake at 180°C (350°F) for 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
Making the Caesar Dressing
- 7
Combine Ingredients
In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together until smooth.
Assembling the Salad
- 8
Combine Salad Ingredients
In the large bowl with the Romaine lettuce, add the cooked shrimp, hard-boiled eggs, chopped bacon, grated Parmesan cheese, and croutons.
- 9
Dress the Salad
Drizzle the prepared Caesar dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine all ingredients thoroughly.
- 10
Serve
Serve immediately while fresh, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese if desired.
