Preparing the Patties

Mix Ingredients
In a bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix well until evenly seasoned.

Shape Patties
Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions (90g each) and shape them into patties, pressing them down to about 1 inch thick.
Cooking the Patties

Heat the Skillet
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the oil.

Cook the Patties
Once the oil is hot, add the patties to the skillet. Cook for about 4 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.

Add Cheese (optional)
If using cheddar cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to allow it to melt.

Prepare Toppings
Slice the onion into thin rings, and prepare the lettuce and tomato.
Assembling the Burger

Build the Burger
On the bottom half of the toasted bun, place the lettuce leaves, followed by the cooked patty, a slice of tomato, and onion rings. Top with the other half of the bun.

Serve
Serve the burger immediately, optionally with fries or your favorite side.
