Burger Patty

Method

Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patty Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until evenly combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a half-pound patty, making a slight indentation in the center to prevent puffing during cooking.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness. Brush with BBQ sauce during the last minute of cooking.

Tobacco Onions

  1. 4

    Slice the Onions

Peel and slice the onions into thin rings. Place them in a bowl.

  2. 5

    Prepare the Batter

In a separate bowl, mix together flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and beer to create a batter. The consistency should be thick enough to coat the onions.

  3. 6

    Fry the Onions

Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Dip the onion rings in the batter, allowing excess to drip off, and carefully place them in the hot oil. Fry in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

French Fries

  1. 7

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into even sticks, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 8

    Soak the Fries

Soak the cut fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat dry thoroughly.

  3. 9

    Fry the Fries

Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the potatoes in small batches until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt while hot.

Burger Assembly

  1. 10

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of the brioche bun, layer lettuce leaves, the cooked beef patty, tobacco onions, pickles, and tomato slices. Drizzle additional BBQ sauce on top before placing the top half of the bun on.

  2. 11

    Serve

Serve the Smokehouse Burger with a side of French fries for a complete meal.
