Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until the ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the beef mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick.

  3. 3

    Grill the Patties

Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

  4. 4

    Melt the Cheese (Optional)

If making a cheeseburger, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking. Cover with a lid to help melt the cheese.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are grilling, lightly toast the brioche buns on the grill until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Burger

Remove the patties from the grill and place each one on the bottom half of a toasted brioche bun. Top with the other half of the bun.
