Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil the Eggs

Place the eggs in a pot and cover them with cold water. Bring the water to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Cool the Eggs

Once boiling, cover the pot, remove it from heat, and let the eggs sit for 12 minutes. After 12 minutes, transfer them to an ice bath to cool for about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Peel the Eggs

Carefully peel the cooled eggs under running water to make the process easier.

Filling Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Filling

Slice the peeled eggs in half lengthwise and remove the yolks. In a mixing bowl, combine the yolks, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper until smooth.

  2. 5

    Fill the Egg Whites

Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg white halves.

  3. 6

    Add Capers

Place one caper on top of each filled egg half.

Garnishing

  1. 7

    Sprinkle Paprika

Sprinkle paprika over the filled deviled eggs to garnish.

Optional Egg Preparation

  1. 8

    Optional Additional Egg

If desired, boil and prepare the additional egg in the same manner as the others, adding the yolk to the filling mixture.
